Changelog:
These signals can be placed next to the track or on the platform where the driver has a good view of it when the train has stopped, in situations where the signal ahead is poorly visible, because of the distance, curvature or objects blocking vision. In Trainz, it is a distant signal acting as a repeater and it will light on any state other than stop in the signal ahead.

This is the older type of signal for the shunt limit, usually placed at both sides of the main track(s). These signals indicate the maximum extent of shunting moves beyond the first block signal, out on the main line.

These poles decorate most of the lines in Belgium. On multiple track lines, the hectometre poles are placed alternatively on the left and right (provided that the 'zero point' is the same for both tracks). Odd values, when ascending, are on the left. The high kilometre poles are placed on both sides in that case.
In this pack of assets, the (blue) panels that show kilometre values are menu-driven (? in Surveyor). For the kilometre value to appear on the Trainz Minimap, the Name field should be filled in as well.

Update 11-01-2011
An update <kuid2:176753:5700090:1> of the Script Library has been found necessary for the Belgian signals to function in TRS19 SP5 and TRS22. These new releases of Trainz appear to be more critical of missing components within assets; they differ in some of the base system's functionality. The changes in the signal scripts of this update deal with this issue, without the need for any change of the signals themselves. Additionally, some modifications have been implemented that concern the timing of the signals lights.
You need to install this update if you are running TRS19 SP5 or TRS22. It is also useful for TANE and older versions of TRS19, since it will result in more prototypical behaviour of the semaphores on brackets.
Look in this pack for a file called Bsig(0009) Belgian Mechanical Signalling - Script Library (SP5-TRS22).cdp
Changelog:
The coronas of these mechanical signal are small and weak. In Trainz, coronas are often high intensity, and not realistic. Remember that the signal lights were originally oil or gas flames, and hardly visible in daylight. This was not important, it is the shape of the semaphore that mattered, and illumination was only intended for the night. In the early days the lamps were not even lit during daytime. With electric lights, the situation improved. During the night, a properly focused lamp only needs a power of a few Watt to be visible over a large distance. The enemy of all this was fog, of course...
